Thinking before execution

Video formats used to be so straightforward I remember playing with my Dad’s camcorder at the age of eight or nine. He had a 1990s Panasonic NVMC20B VHS-C PAL Camcorder.

It depends. Every video is unique and comes with its own set of challenges.

Click2View has bagged its first award this year, winning a bronze award for “Best Employee Engagement Strategy” at the Loyalty & Engagement Awards last week hosted by Marketing Magazine. The winning entry was an internal communications strategy for Visa that leveraged Employee Generated Content (EGC), a methodology to create engaging and authentic content using employee teams as film-makers.

Employing journalists is becoming increasingly important in content marketing and corporate communications but that will only continue if reporters are allowed the traditional independence of their craft. In our work we’ve found our films benefit from interviews conducted by journalists who, by nature, are not willing to accept scripted answers.

One key part of Visa's content marketing strategy in Asia Pacific is to inform key influencers about Visa products and programs and seed Visa stories in media outlets. It’s an alternative approach to PR that is working very well, and at the core is a commitment to making journalist-quality content for the brand.

The best laid plans of mice, men and marketers often go awry and when it comes to video, or motion content as we prefer to call it, this is especially true.

Motul Commissioned 8-part video series with Click2View in a bid to create consistent, on-brand content for their online channels. Click2View began working with Motul in 2013 when the company approached us with the intention of creating a new corporate brand-film for their Asia-Pacific markets.

The team at Click2View was delighted to be nominated for Small Employer of the Year at this year’s HR Excellence Awards . At just 3 years old and going on 18 strong – it’s a fantastic honour and a great way to show how far we’ve come.

Tis the season for newsjacking it seems, and every week there is a new event in our calendars for which we must of course create witty content. Kicking off with Christmas, we’ve ushered in 2014, watched the Golden Globes and Grammy’s, followed the ad action at the Superbowl, celebrated V-Day and patiently await the Oscars that normally brings the silly season to a close.

Six months ago a young graphic designer came into our office to have a look at some promotional cards she had designed for us. The cards were to be used as handouts at a conference to promote our agency.

I came into communications and video production after a long career in journalism. Exposed to the content craze in the marketing and advertising world for the first time in my new role, I began to think about what I’d done as a professional content creator over the years and how it might apply to brands.
